These are the Days of Noah

We are knee deep in this study on Sunday Night regarding “Resident Evil”. As I keep studying the Old Testament passages I am starting to realize how similar our generation is with the days of Noah. Look at the similarities with time before the flood and our current time period.

Think about it. After a few generations of multiplying, people in the Old Testament began to leave God out of their lives. (yep, were got that) The men started to chose wives based only on their physical beauty. They could care less about their character. In our day, we have massive amounts of pornography at our fingertips. We lust over beauty while totally disregarding a womans character or inner qualities. Some of my teenagers choose to date people (adults too) solely on how they look. No wonder Christian and non-Christian marriages are going down the drain. Today marriage never goes beneath the skin. In the Old Testament time it was the men that choose the women. In our day it is going both ways. Not only do men choose wives on looks but women are choosing men on looks as well.

So these good looking people who are hooking up in the Old Testament start to have children. They are already quick to rush God out of their life, so their beautiful children grow into wicked adults whose every impulse, thought, and plan is corrupt. In our day, our beautiful kids disregarded everything because of the lack of mature parents who could care less. We have our disregarded, pretty little kids shooting up schools, with their iwant devices (that mom and dad bought them to have some peace and quiet) jammed into their ears focusing on themselves.

Now I know there are some extremes that I am drawing but in reality there are numerous truths presented that we should keep our eyes and ears alert. Violence became a way of life in the Old Testament. Today we have massive amounts of violent video games, violent movies, violent music, and entertainment that screams for you to do what you want to do. Is anyone following me here?

We are no different than the Noah generation. Once conditions reached this point, God decided to destroy them. He did it once and He will do it again. When you overcome evil, you find favor in the eyes of the Lord. (Read Genesis 6:8) Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. What it comes down to is asking yourself if you find favor in the eyes of the Lord? Are you overcoming evil? Are you set apart?

Are you one of the world or are set apart ? Do you constantly allow evil to reside in your heart or trickle in? Don’t just respond, think about it. Are you tired of not standing firm and overcoming evil? Are you finding favor in the eyes of the Lord? Are you living for him? It is possible for God’s children to do what is right! It is possible for you to find favor in the eyes of the Lord. Run away from the devil and into the arms of Christ. God wants a real relationship with you!

Psalm 34:1-8 “I bless God every chance I get; my lungs expand with his praise. I live and breathe God; if things aren’t going well, hear this and be happy: Join me in spreading the news; together let’s get the word out. God met me more than halfway, he freed me from my anxious fears. Look at him; give him your warmest smile. Never hide your feelings from him. When I was desperate, I called out, and God got me out of a tight spot. God‘s angel sets up a circle of protection around us while we pray. Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see how good God is.
