NOTES: This Sunday was packed!  Everything from a slide show of people getting saved to an amazing horn preformace!  Praise Jesus, He is working in this world!  With that said, we started the service with our usual announcements and prayer.  We have been doing for sometime now.  As I said a couple of weeks ago, it is great to see our lead pastor welcoming people at the start and letting everyone know about what we are doing as a body this week so they can get involved.

We did two songs after announcements.  One that the congratulation is learning by Dave Hunt and one that is an older hymn.  (P.s. If you get a chance, check out Dave Hunt.  He is amazing artist who loves the Lord and it shows in his music.  Check out his stuff by clicking the link in the set list.)  Both songs went great together!

We then had Todd and Terri Smalley speak for a few moments so our congregation could get to know them and hear about what God is doing in their life.  Todd and Terri are missionaries that we support, working through Proclaim International to spread the message of Jesus Christ by using creative means, such as the arts and their musical gifts.  They have a pretty sweet story too.  Todd accepted Christ when, as he says, he was, “reading a Gideon Bible in a motel room on a business trip”. He said he had heard the gospel for the first time ten years prior, but rejected it. He said he was, “unhappy and unfulfilled until the night I decided to take Jesus at His word”.  Awesome!  His wife Terri is a lot like my wife who was blessed to grow up in a home with Christian parents and trusted Jesus as a child.  You can tell they work great together.  Is was a great message to hear the things that God is doing through them in America and overseas.

After the presentation, Todd and our second service director, Chris Woods, did a version of Wayfaring Stranger on their Trombone that was unreal.  It’s amazing to see people using their God given abilities for the kingdom.  They both have a wonderful gift and it was great to see them share that with us.  As they ended the song, we did communion with a soft guitar in the background.  I love communion.  It’s a great way to reflect on what the Lord has done for us through his shed blood on the cross.  Thank you God for our salvation, our free gift of salvation through your son Jesus Christ!

After communion we went into the message.  The Message today was about, “putting a fancy rob on God when we worship”.  It was all about worship and what that looks like in our lives.  It was a great message full of ways to apply the word of God to your life to grow in your relationship with Christ, giving glory to Him alone.

We finished the service with Tomlins version of, “We Fall Down”  We sang the holy, holy, holy part at least ten times!  It was awesome to hear people raising their voice to God in praise.

What a week of celebration!  I can’t wait to see what wil happen this week through our lives as we continue to serve the King.

How was your celebration?
