Two Words

Apple Computers

Here’s my story…

I had a small chip in my Macbook casing that cracked through normal wear and tear.  It was right on the left bottom corner were my palms rest on the keyboard.  Honestly, I could have dealt with it but it was getting frustrating.  Plus, what if I ever wanted to sell the thing?

I was helpless.

My buddy Owen sent out a Twitter in response to my tweet about cleaning my Macbook screen.  He said that he had started to clean his Macbook, but then realized he had Apple Care. They (the Apple people) clean it for him every time he bring it in.  My mind started working (which is dangerous) and thinking about the crack.

I thought,

“What if I could get this fixed for free?”

I went and found out if I had Apple Care (I have had my mac for sometime so I was a little hesitant.  You can find the info for whether or not you’re covered here).   Sure enough, I was still covered.  I found out where the nearest service and care provider was located (the nearest one for me was in Saint Louis which isn’t too bad of a drive) so I booked a reservation, got in the car, and took off.

When I got to the Apple store they were booming (it is Saint Louis) talked to the the lady at the front, who directed me to the guy in the back, who looked at my computer and said,

“Not a problem.”

I walked around the mall for awhile while they were fixing it.  My phone rang 20 minutes later.  It was done.  I walked back into the store only to realize that they not only replaced the case but gave me a new keyboard, mouse trackpad, and cleaned the entire computer.

Awesome!

If there is something wrong with your Apple machine and your covered with Apple care, you need to take it in.  It was the simplest thing I have ever done electronically.

Just another reason I’m a “Mac Guy”
