The News

To my friends, family, and faithful readers;

After months of prayer and guidance from the Holy Spirit it’s time to formally announce my resignation from Highland Community Church as Youth Pastor, effective July 31st, via the internet.

The past 4 years at Highland Community Church have been challenging, rewarding, provoking, and engaging.  What I have learned about Jesus and the church throughout my time at H.C.C is priceless.  I have enjoyed my time here with everyone as we have corporately worshipped Jesus and served through a number of different different acts of service.

It has also been a true honor to lead a very successful team downstairs (at GeNESIS) that is dedicated to seeing youth both come to know Christ and grow in their relationship with Jesus.  It has been an outstanding adventure to have grown together in so many ways and it is awesome to watch God’s servants mature in their own spiritual walks both in and outside of youth ministry.

The decision to resign was not an easy choice to make by any means.  Bethany and I have spent much time together, and apart, in quiet conversations with God assessing the call to leave while asking for clarity on the direction we needed to go.

I have accepted the call as Associate/Youth Pastor, continuing to serve Christ, at Community Gospel Church in Bremen, Indiana. This opportunity to serve and lead in this congregational body gives Bethany and I the chance to grow deeper in our personal relationships with Christ through mentorship, discipleship, and evangelism.  We are also excited and looking forward to serving the church and joining the team already assembled in Indiana.  We will be pushed as a family unit to further deepen and develop our leadership skills while serving the body and Christ, as we always have, with all our hearts.

While I wish I could have delivered this message personally to everyone receiving the news, I know this will have to suffice as word travels quickly.  I wanted you all to hear the news from Bethany and I but we understand that doesn’t always happen.

I would like to extend my hand to anyone who has questions, comments, or would like to discuss these matters further in person.  Remember, receiving information first hand is always better than hearing news from someone else.

Bethany and I will continue to pray for the Highland Community Church family often.  We are in prayer that our paths cross again and again in the future.  Our prayer is always for the best of the church and to go where God directs.

As it is with tears in our eyes that we will leave our church family here in Highland, we know there is a community of believers in Bremen who await our coming.  We cannot wait to spend an eternity in heaven with everyone who knows Christ personally as Lord and Savior.

Keep us in your prayers and I’ll keep more great information coming at
