Muck Year in Review

Merry CHRISTmas and Happy New Year! We pray this time of year brings many reasons for you to find joy and to remember the reason we celebrate this season – Christ, our Savior’s birth!

This year’s theme in the Muck household has been God’s grace and provision. As many of you know, our second daughter, Gianna Lynn, was born on Easter Sunday, April 8 weighing 7 pounds 4 ounces and 21 ½ inches long. It was, however, a rough time for us. There were life-threatening complications to Bethany during her emergency c-section that led to another surgery later that night. It was a scary time but one that forced us to rely upon the faith that we profess in Christ. The six weeks following Gianna’s delivery were full of challenges as well, but we are happy to report that Gianna is a happy and healthy baby. Although, she isn’t a good sleeper, which has had its own set of challenges these past couple of months; however, we have a wonderful support system here with our church family and are happy to report that she’s finally starting to sleep through the night! ☺ Gianna is a playful baby, always giggling and smiling. She’s getting so big so fast- even starting to pull herself up into a standing position already (at 8 months old)!

Corinne turned two on June 1. We celebrated with friends and family a few days before her birthday and then went to the South Bend Zoo as a family to celebrate on her birthday. She loves the zoo, but not necessarily all the animals – her favorite is the train ride! Right after her birthday, we took our first family-of-four vacation to Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky, OH. Corinne loved the indoor waterpark, where she experienced her first water slide (thanks to her daddy). Gianna loved it, too; although, she was only two months old at the time. It was a much-needed break for us after all the medical issues and recovery from Gianna’s birth.

In other important news, Jordan was voted in as the new Lead Pastor at Community Gospel Church in May. He filled the pulpit every Sunday, as well as continuing as Associate and Youth Pastor, until May, but it was then made official soon after Gianna was born. We love our church and are so thankful that God brought us to this family of believers. Jordan has a lot of work right now, as he is still acting as Youth Pastor, but it is work that God has called us to do. We have so many good friends here; it’s truly a family that’s surrounding us. We have committed our lives to doing the Lord’s work, and we are so blessed to do that work at Community Gospel Church.

Jordan graduated from Grace Seminary in May, as well, with his Master’s degree in Ministry Studies. We are so thankful he is done with school and so thankful that he has his degree. It was a proud moment to watch him walk across that stage with his second degree in hand!

Bethany is still a stay-at-home mom but keeps busy with church work – helping with Velocity student ministries, serving on the Women’s Ministry leadership team as well as the MOPS steering team, and directing the choir. She is also teaching piano and has ten students, and she accompanies for various school choirs and band programs. December is a busy month for her with concerts, a studio piano recital, and the Christmas program at church.

As you can see, God has certainly bestowed His grace and provision on our family this year. We thank you so much for your prayers and your support over this past year. We wouldn’t make it through some days without the love and encouragement from our dear friends and family. Whether you live near or far, we hold you in our hearts.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
